We can’t talk about church chairs without discussing the foam in the seat cushion and back cushion. After all, the foam is what gives you the supportive, comfortable padding that cradles your body. Your chairs may have a sturdy frame built with all the right supportive angles, but if the foam is not adequate, you are going to notice it right away. Let’s talk about seating that lacks padding. You may currently be using metal folding chairs at your church, or plastic blow-molded chairs in order to cover your bare minimum seating needs, but if your chairs are lacking at least a foam seat pad, you are missing out on a lot of comfort and extended seating time that foam can provide for you.

Think of the last time you may have gathered in a gymnasium or meeting hall that only had folding chairs. After about half an hour of sitting, you probably began to shift your weight from side to side or back-and-forth. You may have even tried crossing your legs or propping up a foot on the chair in front of you. Whether you realized you were doing it or not, your body was trying to get comfortable because there was simply not enough cushioning to provide lasting comfort.

Foam padding on your church chair can go a long way to increasing the time that it is comfortable for you to sit and listen to the Word.

Let’s extend that example into church seating. Many church services will last anywhere from an hour and a half to possibly three hours or more depending on the church and type of service that is being held. If there are multiple speakers or many items to cover during the order of the service, it won’t be long until you begin to feel the positive or negative effect of the type of chair you’re sitting in. You may even have a minister who is long-winded, so a lengthy sermon is not out of the ordinary for your church experience.

Foam used in church chairs

Foam padding on your church chair can go a long way to increasing the time that it is comfortable for you to sit and listen to the Word. Granted, we in the Western world are quite pampered when it comes to our creature comforts as it relates to our church experience. However, if your mind is too focused on your backside and how uncomfortable you are you may be missing out on some great points of truth that the minister is sharing. Don’t let that be your experience. Make sure you have adequate foam padding on your church chair to help you keep your mind on things above!
